Just got back from an early showing of Ironman, and all I can say is go see it. Seriously.
If any comic movie deserves your money, this is it (don't get me wrong, I'm still a Batman fangirl, but this movie was great).
That's all.

My iPod has finally given up the ghost.
Weird thing is, it's fully functional, I just can't write anything to it. So I have an iPod that can no longer hold music.
I guess it was inevitable, after two years of serious abuse, that my iPod would die. Seriously, the number of times I've dropped it onto hard surfaces (tar, slate) from differing heights, it was a miracle the thing worked as long as it did.
The fact that it had been recently prone to resetting itself while running was probably a warning sign.
Ah, well, I must now save up a couple hundred dollars to buy myself a new one ;.;

This morning at 3 a.m. my phone started ringing. I do not have a quiet ring, and it scared the hell out of me. Being half-asleep, I actually tried to turn my alarm clock off before realizing it was the phone. The thing probably woke up half the other girls living in the basement.
My sister and her friends, wasted, decided it would be a great idea to call me. I answer it, and the first thing I hear is "Hi sis, I heart you! We heart you!"
Okay, how can I be mad after that? I chat with them for a bit, then go back to bed (being careful to turn my phone off in case they decide they forgot to tell me something).
I'm lying in bed, thinking about this time in Ireland when the hotel fire alarm went off and I tried to hang up the phone repeatedly to turn it off, when the fire alarm in the dorm goes off. Ok, what the hell?
Now I've got so much adrenaline running through my system, it takes me an hour to get back to sleep, even though I'm exhausted.
It was an adventurous night.

There is a winter weather advisory in effect today for expected snow.
I quote:
"Amounts should range from only an inch or two near the Mass Turnpike and on valley floors...but to as much as 4 or 5 inhes in the high terrain along the New Hampshire border...espcially the communities of Royalston, Winchendon, and _Ashburnham_.
Okay, only two inches here on campus, I an deal with that. But wait, five at home!? I have to go home today for a doctor's appointment right in the time frame for the storm. What the hell?
Sorry, just had to vent my frustration about the weather.

Yay! This is my first post ever from my shiny new computer. It's a lovely XPS 1330 in tuxedo black (I wanted red, but it was more expensive). Its name is the CompanionCube. It is maybe one fourth the size and weight of my old computer. I do still miss my old one, though.
So today at work, I waited on some guy who looked scarily like Ralph Fiennes. No exaggeration, it was like I was serving his twin. It was rather cool on one level, and really unsettling on another.
Later in the evening, the entire dining room and service aisle suddenly smelled like pot. I thought I was imagining it until other servers started talking about it. Seriously, it smelled like one of the tables had lit up.
Okies, off to do homework.

Mount Holyoke students are crazy. It's a week into the semester, and people are already ridiculously stressed. I was chilling out in the TV room in one of the Rockies, when a girl comes in, slams something down on one of the armchairs, and bursts into tears. Awkward.
I feel uncomfortable when _I_ cry; what the hell am I supposed to do with someone else crying?
It's a small room, and she seemed to want to stay there and share her misery with me.
Apparently this breakdown was prompted by being locked out of her room after a bad day.
I got the impression she was a first-year, but I hope I was wrong. If she's a first-year and this stressed, she will never make it another three years at this college.

Went to Universal Studios today, just a last bit of fun before I have to head home.
Back to the Future is no longer there, it has been closed to make way for a Simpsons ride. First they get rid of the Hanna-Barbara ride in favor of Jimmy Neutron, now this. Universal makes decisions that make me sad.
We watched people being mocked by a fountain for awhile, and some young girl sat next to me, very close (like almost in my lap), it was strange.
Hurt my shoulder (big red mark).
Got back to the condo and found some sad news online.
R.I.P. Heath Ledger
Melancholy mood: the news tonight is filled with death
A woman set herself and her two small children on fire
A mother of two was kidnapped from her own home, murdered and buried by a plumber

I have a single! Room 004 in 1837.
It's in the basement, but what ever, it's a single.
In other news, if you feel something stinging you in Florida, it is a good idea to brush it away fast. I felt a stinging on my knee while I was walking a few weeks ago, and ignored it for a couple of minutes while I walked. finally, the stinging got to be too much, so I brushed at it and a fire ant dropped off of my leg.
Fire ants are nasty little buggers, they're tiny little ants with a killer bite. The bite swelled, itched, blistered, filled with pus, itched some more, formed a welt, and finally started healing just yesterday. The welt has gone down, but the area around the bite is still tender.
And just this morning I found a painful bite from god knows what on my ankle. Do I just attract these things?

Happy yule tide!
My day was great--
We had dinner at my Aunt Joy's house; yes, I had to hug people, but after that, I could pretty much ignore everyone because there was a Stargate: SG-1 marathon on the sci-fi channel.
Stargate makes everything better.
And then my mom called me a geek.
That pretty much sums up the day.
My kids, if I ever have any, will not know of Santa. They will grow up thinking that there are little gremlins that make things go wrong all year, and then leave presents on Christmas to make up for it.
"Staaaargaaaaate
It's a great big whirl
With a great big swirl
And you step inside
To another world"

Eh, done with my Japanese final. I think I did very badly on it, but I'm pretty sure I managed to get enough points to get a B in the class.
I am completely moved out of my room in case I get my room change, and if I don't get my room change, I'll have to move completely back in, stupid system, but whatever.
So now it's just me, my computer, and my Islam notebook. I must study and take my Islam test at 7, then I'm out of here.
I only hope I can leave before the snow starts.
So for the past couple of days, I have been running on a meal a day, since stress makes me lose my appetite. So I basically had lunch only. Today, I had breakfast, and two, count them, TWO lunches, one of which was really big. I was starving! I guess my digestive system finally kicked in and was like "Woah, WTF, not enough food!"
Anyway, one final to go! See y'all on the other side.

New England sucks.
It took me an hour and a half to get to Amherst from campus--normally a 20 minute drive.
I didn't slide at all, 4-wheel drive is awesome, but no one else seemed to know the first thing about driving in snow.
I wouldn't have gone at all if I had known the snow was going to get so bad, but as it is, I missed my tea ceremony lesson, the last one of the semester.
I feel so bad about it, but I couldn't get back in time. I called Chris and asked her to leave Yamashita-sensei a note for me, but I don't know if she got it, so now I'm imagining her waiting for me for 20 minutes before giving up. Oh I feel so horrible.

We have a baby bird! I think...we can hear it chirping, but we can't see it because every time we look in the box, the momma bird covers it.
Baby birds are awesome! <3
And the Golden Compass movie... what? Where did the ending go?

so I've found out how to animate icons in photoshop ^^
thus we get suicidal lemmings!

My family had a cheap sewing machine that didn't like us. The bobbin would never feed correctly. It would often get things tangled and ugly, but usually we could work through this. However, over Thanksgiving break, while working on One Piece costumes, the thread tangled, the needle wouldn't move, and while trying to make everything better, I heard a snap inside the machine. O.o;; That didn't sound good. I have been afraid to try it since then, so today, I ran out and bought a new machine. It was $120, but on sale for $99. I likes my new sewing machine ^^. I am once again broke ;.;
Who decided to name a candy Nerds? If they had named it Dorks, no one would buy it, if they had named it Geeks, no one would buy it...so why then do people eat Nerds? I ask this as I am sitting at my computer doing just that...lemonade coated wild cherry is awesome, but apple coated watermelon is kind of gross.
Oh, and the little pictures on the box of Nerds having all sorts of fun...well that just makes me feel guilty for eating the little guys.

So my computer might be dying. It took me about 20 tries to turn it on. Just before finals...great.
And Islam essays suck, I don't care about dead saints from any religion and why does it matter what their life was like?
I now have a PS3 <3
My mum is addicted to Jak and Daxter XD
Life on some levels doesn't suck.

To those of you in the states, happy turkey day!
My sister is getting rid of a bunch of stuff, and so her bullwhip was sitting on the dining room table. I decide I want to keep it, so I take it outside to give it a few experimental cracks. The first one goes smoothly, I get a nice loud snapping sound. So I try it again, and instead of going round in a nice arc, the end of the whip hits me across my shoulder and back, leaving quite a nice red line and a few small welts. I need to be more careful or I'll end up in a Darwin Awards book.
